@Arite: I used Illustrator and then some retouches in Photoshop.
I needed something to experiment with "Gradient Mesh" on, and I remembered I told JB that doing this could be cool... so I did.
I retraced the background using the original image, and then did the cone.

Redid the image, it looks better now, I think.

I read somewhere else that if you install an older version (even 0.86) it solves most of the problems on OSX.

I don't know if it's true, haven't tried it myself.

there are many mods for spam filtering
and there is one important mod that i believe should be added asap - a "Report post" button on every post, this lets users inform the moderators of spam, trolls etc. on the fly.

As I understand DVD players have 2 read heads one for CDs and one for DVDs (I had a player that read CDs but not DVDs and this is what i was told) So it could be that the head for DVDs is damaged. Did you check with another DVD program that your computer reads DVDs correctly without VLC?

Because if not, maybe the fault is on the DVD drive...
