I'll be glad to design an iCone (look! I invented a new buzz word!) for Advanced, but as you can see from the screenshots, there is no "Advanced" tab, there is the "Show all" button/radio, so there is no need for this kind of icon. BTW I just noticed that there is no "Reset&...

I didn't mean to shout, just emphasize :). 1. if you mean the gradient on the "selected" button, it's just an idea, if you want i can create a png for that. The gradient on the buttons is from your screenshot. 2,3,5. For the past 6 weeks I'm working on a Mac most of the time (I work for th...

1. I sent JB svg versions, but, they were not converted good enough from Illustrator format, I'm still struggling with getting good results when converting. 2. The small images are left aligned, intentionally 3. Tabs are a VERY good idea, they keep the data the user has to deal with on the page orde...

Sorry, I forgot to mention it - The icons that are currently needed for the "Simple" interface are: > video > audio > input/codecs > shortcuts > interface > subtitles There were a "playlist" and an "advanced" in there, but they decided to move them to somewhere else. Oh...

Icon Suggestions for the new Qt Interface

I was asked by our dear friends here at VideoLan to try and design some new icons for the Qt interface. All images were made in Illustrator CS (no "real" 3D), I even redo the cone in vector. the only icon where I used an image not made by me is the "Video" icon - the Popcorn seed...

Doesn't have to be only the partials, use it in any box that has text + image in the same box, it will align the text to the center of the image.

If you'll change all partials to:
<img src="/images/features/partial.png" alt="" style="vertical-align:middle">
(or even better - usa a special class for it) the text and the image will be aligned, and the overall look will be even better.

Nice! the list is much better like this. The only solution for the list is to put the "[ ]" as an image... an ugly solution. never mind, it's not that important. As you can see I'm not submiting any icons lately... just have no time. When I'll find the time you will have new icons, and may...

Default UI laguage issue

My computer locale is Hebrew (though everything else is english). When I install VLC It askes for the Install language, I choose English, but then VLC starts the UI in hebrew and I have to manualy change it. Is it a bug or the language selection is for the installation process only? I think it shoud...

Site looks perfect now! nothing breaks on resize. FF, Opera and IE7 works great, don't have Safari to check it. IE6 still breaks. You can always blame MS for it - www.quirksmode.com did it, he decided that (some parts of) his site will not be backwords compatible with IE6 and it's the user's problem...

yes. Look at my other post, I was wrong with one of the solutions I gave you there. Some advice - 1. "vertical-align" doesn't work outside table cells. 2. giving the body tag "min-width" does nothing, giving it border:0 is also unnecessary. 3. just give the "submenucontainer...

Just a fix to my previous post: I was wrong with the solution I gave for the "min-width" emulation in IE, I should have checked it before I posted, though logicly it should have worked - it doesn't. I got stuck with the same problem in a site I'm working on now, and for now I don't have a ...

There is still something realy wrong going on with your CSS

The layout still breaks on resize in all the browsers I tested. (WinXP - IE 6, IE 7rc1, FF 1.5, FF 2.0b, Opera 9) adding to my previeus post about the layout (in the "anouncement" thread): 1. The navbar breaks - in some browsers only the word "support" drops down aline, in some b...

Why use this horrible file hosting... ImageShack or flickr is not good enough?

Anyway, It's nice, but not amazing. The cone lost it's 3D look, and the "play" icon doesn't realy blend in.

My two cents of Creative/Technical overview: (Firefox 1.506 on Windows XP): when resizing the window, "support" is jumping one line down in all pages (missing a "white-space:nowrap" and/or "overflow:hidden" and/or a fixed width somewhere, I guess) In "overview&quo...

Thank for giving me some credit even though I was only the runnerup.

Anyway - good design choice, I think it has some refining to do (like right column behaviour on window resize).

If you want me to release the Icons I made for my design, Just say so.

Here is a design with a more simple page-header. Just a note: I know that some will think that the header is dull, or lacks the eye-candy that many designers like so much, but I see VLC as a minimal shell with maximum usability, and I believe it's web site should deliver the same feel. http://www.to...
