Re: 1080p choppy video

well, switching to directx video, like I've done before didn't make a difference, and neither did the loop trick. Any other ideas?

Re: 1080p choppy video

Thanks for the suggestion. I have the latest Ati drivers, the card is an x1950pro, so it should be enough. The fact that I can play 1080p with a specific codec, suggests to me that under those conditions, my hardware has the processing power to play such a high resolution video. I will try those set...

1080p choppy video

I have several 1080p .mkv files. All are avc1 encoded. All three have unique issues when playing in The Core Media player/Media Player Classic with the coreavc codec. With VLC they all open, and audio is crystal clear, but the video is very choppy. Using TCMP and MPC, the video plays fine for a few,...

I use a replacement shell for windows, blackbox, and just recently I made the task bar transparent, and at the same time, vlc stopped showing video, only a grey screen. I turned off the transparency, and, bam! video worked. Odd. I still sometimes get grey screens, when opening certain avi's, if i fa...

Selecting Audio Output Device

Is there an option in vlc that will let me select which audio device to output to? I have a usb headset that I only like to use for voip calls, and I'd rather not have to unplug them to use vlc over my speakers. Most programs that output let me select which device to use, I haven't been able to find...

Did you read my post?? It says without single-instance mode. I did try it, and I mentioned it in my original post. The only way it works is in multiple instance mode. but, as DJ said: @tonsofpcs, I think he is trying, but finding the recommended change a bit inconvenient to use. Being honest I woul...

Have you tried the set "Enqueue items to playlist when in one instance mode" did it have any effect on the problem? I believe that what you are describing could very well be considered a bug, because in the default configuration the problem would not occur. Thus it was probably overlooked...

Have you tried without the single-instance mode? did you read my post?? If i use single instance mode, and open a video in firefox, while vlc is open, firefox closes, and so does the vlic window. With the player closed, and set in single instance mode, if i open a video in firefox, watch it in fire...

Firefox Closes

I have 0.8.4, and the firefox plugin installed. I've made no changes to firefox since the install of vlc. I just recently attempted to watch a video that was web-based and firefox closed immediately after I clicked the link to the video. I had VLC running at the time, and realized it must be because...

i reset the preferences, and instead of going through the program to set skins2 as default, I chaned it from the preferences file, changed the #int=, to int=skins2. Now, it works. Works from the executable, or if i double click a video file. I opened about 30 different video files, and it's working ...

VLC Crashes after saving settings

After having some nightly builds cause some issues, I installed and uninstalled the latest version, .8.4, and then reinstalled it, making sure to reset the preferences. Upon running the program for the first time, I immediately set "allow only one instance" and "enque other files in p...

Nightly Build wont uninstall

I just tried two nightly builds, and neither will work. After installation, I attempt to open a vide, and I'm presented with "VLC media player has encountered a problem and needs to close". I try uninstalling it, but when i do, i get this message: "Error Launching Installer" The ...

Re: Context Menus

I searched for my specific question, but could not find it. I know I can remove "add to vlc media player's playlist" from my recycle bin, but, how can I make that an option for individual files??? I don't know that you searched real hard. I think I answer this one every day. Preferences, ...

I searched for my specific question, but could not find it. I know I can remove "add to vlc media player's playlist" from my recycle bin, but, how can I make that an option for individual files?? I'm using the .8.4a release, I heard that a nightly release fixes the recycle bin thing, and I...
