Did anything change at the time things stopped working? OS Version, VLC version, computer model, etc? Does this work with VLC on Windows?

Could you clarify what you are trying to do? Are you trying to run VLC from the command line?

Are you having to force quit VLC when it hangs. If so, please include the crash log that gets produced.

It is possible to open the the ISO file via the Disk Utility, so I just wanted to be sure how you were mounting the image.

You can open a bug report, though before you do be sure to try with a recent nightly build and include logs with the ticket.

What does the messages window indicate? Additionally what codecs are being used and does converting to MP4 with Handbrake help?

Additionally, the controller won't disappear if the cursor is over it. You will need to move the cursor off the controller before it will disappear, though you were probably aware of this and this is not the issue?

Could you try resetting the VLC preferences and see if that changes anything?

Are you simply pointing VLC to the ISO or is the ISO mounted and then you have VLC play the mounted image?

Is this issue happening on a Mac? What OS version? What VLC version? Sidebar of Finder, VLC?

Got clarification from the devs that H.265 should be treated as experimental at this point, since it is "too early and slow to be suggested".

Are you able to make available a short sample of the the two. It would be useful for comparison, as part of investigation.

It would appear to be missing from the user interface. For now you'll need to use the command line.

Just a point of reference, does it play well with other software on the same machines?

Do you know how whether the drive is mounted as AFS or SMB? Do you have the issue with non-iso files on your NAS?

Could you share logs from the message window? What Mac do you have? Does this only impact MKVs?

Does this happen with only one video or all flv files?

Did you trying reseting the preferences? If you did and it is still happening, please submit log files.

Does freeze the video only or the whole application? If you skip past that point and continue playing do you observe any other issues?

What are the contents of the channels.m3u?

Depending on the actual stream format, maybe there could be a way to record the raw stream, that then could be analysed. @dfuhrmann do you have any suggestions?

What Mac and how many screens do you have?

Just tried the build myself and see the same issue. I am on 10.11.4 as well. This other thread suggests that 64-bit support requires lua 5.3+, but I am not sure what needs to be done to resolve this. If you downgrade to 2.2.1 does everything behave correctly?
