sound but no video

when i write int my linux terminal
vlc -vvv file.avi --sout '#standard{access=http,mux=ps,url=192.168.1.101:8080}'

i get sound but no picture.

i'd like to stream over http i don't want to use telnet. so i do this: vlc -I http [--http -src /media/d/map/ --http-host 192.168.1.101:port] then on another pc, i can browse to the mainpage, but when i want to play a movie, it only plays on the host. i found out that it didn't work with ts, but it does with ps.
but when i write
vlc -vvv file.avi --sout '#standard{access=http,mux=ps,url=192.168.1.101:8080}'

i get sound but no picture.

when i'm in full screen mode, the subtitles are in the middle of my screen on the left side and as small as i'm not in full screen mode

VLC not as sharp as xine

when i play an avi in Xine or gxine, it is much more sharper then in VLC.
In vlc it is more blocked.
How come?
