[Solved- avcodec error]With VLC 2.0 can not see video

Postby bosnak » 02 Mar 2012 08:43

When I open any file with xvid in the title name, it will play the Audio, but no Video.
- Yes, the video track is enabled and selected
- The output is on DirectX, other options do not work.
- Yes, I downloaded the codec anyway.
- Yes, video works on other players, with different files.
- Yes, other types of .avi work and show video + audio
- Uninstalled, re-installed, restarted, all of the above (fresh format here)

Any other file will work, except any xvids.

[update]

I checked the log messages the client send, I receive a repeat of the following:

Code: Select all

avcodec error: more than 5 seconds of late video -> dropping frame (computer too slow ?) avcodec error: more than 5 seconds of late video -> dropping frame (computer too slow ?) avcodec error: more than 5 seconds of late video -> dropping frame (computer too slow ?) avcodec error: more than 5 seconds of late video -> dropping frame (computer too slow ?)

vlc version? you can use GPU decoding anyway. In tools->preferences->input/codec check the use GPU checkbox save and restart vlc.
