VLC started distorting the video part of any video file

Postby jst_ghost » 17 Feb 2012 14:30

Hello,
I am unsure if there is any other post regarding this issue, but here is my problem.
2 days ago my VLC media player stopped working. What it does is, when I open any video file (no matter which format) it starts playing it with perfect sound, but video gets distorted in a way that all I see are vertical lines of changing colors. I'll add an image of what it loots like so you'll have a clear idea of what I mean.

So I'm wondering what could be the problem that caused this. I'm unsure, but it might have happened after I updated the VLC to the newest version. But I tried to delete it and install the older versions to see if that helped, but it was the same.

Reset preferences. And upgrade your video drivers.
