NO SOUNDS @ ALL

thnks for any help I have to new downloaded movies in 2 days that wont play any sound but they play fine in Window Media Player (yeah the crappy window one ) both are avi format any ideas??

Try deleting VLC's preferences and cache files:

Then open VLC and try the videos out. If that's doesn't help, what version of VLC are you using? What are the audio codecs in the video (go to "Tools >> Codec Information" when a video is playing)?

THNKS resetting the Preferences worked !!1
I use the latest version according to the update tool 1.1.11
