Deinterlace doublers don't work correctly with top field 1st

Postby metaleonid » 07 Jan 2012 06:02

Downloaded 1.2.0-rc1. Played a few footages and it looks like if I feed the DVDs with interlaced footage (top field first) or Huffyuv AVI with top field first to VLC, any doubling deinterlacer makes things worse (except for yadif(2x) which simply crashes VLC). It looks like it plays the footage in incorrect field order. Does it always swap bottom and top field during playback? If, however, I feed the DV based footage which is bottom field first, the deinterlacing doublers works perfectly. The motions are very smooth. I am wondering if there's something in settings I have to configure so that top field first is played correctly. Thanks in advance.
