Titles for videos

Postby hereathome » 03 Jan 2012 21:53

I have videolan configured to show the video titles at the start of playing them. While it works for mov files I cannot get it to show movie titles when playing avi files. Is there something else I must do? Thanks.

No, probably just a VLC bug.

Or maybe a metadata issue.

What is a metadata issue? Thanks. I wonder if anyone else has this issue.

The AVI file might have some metadata in it (movie name, directors etc.), which VLC uses. But if the metadata is incorrect (like whitespace chars), then VLC might not display anything. If some AVI files display title and others don't, I would guess it is related to this.

At least in here AVI filename is displayed at start (I tested with one AVI).
