Bad image in HD videos

Postby user2009 » 25 Dec 2011 15:39

Hi, I'm having problems playing HD videos as you can see in the image.
Image

The screenshot was taken from a movie in mp4, x264 codec. Resolution: 1280*720.

It's like drizzle, grainy. I don't know. How is it called? Is there a technical name? It happens only in 720p and 1080p videos.
Opening the SAME file in SMplayer the image quality is wonderful.

Anyway, I'd like to solve this problem in VLC without reinstalling(also, there's no guarantee it gonna fix it, right?).

Followed this tip with no success:

Driver issue. Deactivate overlay.

Thanks for your response, but you mean in preferences, video, accelerated video output(overlay)? I've uncheck it. The problem continues.
