Video (codec?) problems

Postby Seijuro_Hiko » 29 Jan 2004 07:20

We're having a bit of a tough time with a DivX that I had encoded with Forty-Two version 1.6.2 and viewed with older versions of VLC (0.6.2) with no problem. I updated from OS X 10.2.6 to 10.2.8 and VLC would crash shortly after launching a movie, forcing me to force quit the application. After upgrading to VLC 0.7.0, the application doesn't crash anymore, but now video inconsistancies on the bottom of the screen which weren't there before started showing up. On my friends PC, it looks excellent, leading us to believe it's a codec issue. Anyone else having these problems, and/or solutions?

I have a screenshot that depicts that I'm talking about minorly (it's far more noticable in motion), but I do not know how to post pictures.

Any help/advice would be appreciated as I'm close to simply reverting to 10.2.6 to 'get over' on the situation.
