... would like to know how to "reset VLC settings by removing %appdata%\vlc folder".
From Run start
CMD prompt
Type
Set (and hit <Enter>)
Scroll up and look for line like this:
APPDATA=D:\Documents and Settings\A & L\Application Data
(it
will be different on your computer!)
Go to that folder
(since some of the sub-folders in that path are hidden the easiest way to go there is just copy/paste of the folder name
(in my case "D:\Documents and Settings\A & L\Application Data")
from the CMD window to "Address" line of any folder window (at the top)
To copy text: from CMD window -> click [c:\] icon at top-left -> Edit -> Mark
Select the text with mouse and hit <Enter>
)
Find there the
vlc folder.
Move that
vlc folder to another place (or just delete it).
Start VLC and it will look/act as if you just installed it for the first time.
