File OPEN and PLAY entries in File Types?

Could one of the experts tell me exactly what the entries should be in XP Folder Options > File Types > MP4 to Open and Play the file with VLC please? Do I need both, as I've read in some threads, or can I just use a single entry that will immediately play the file when I d-click it in its folder?
