VLC 1.1.11 Subtitle problem

Postby Daniel666 » 19 Aug 2011 14:03

I've updated my VLC 1.0.5 to 1.1.11. The interface is better, but after I loaded a subtitle, the result is shocked me:

It looked way better in 1.0.5:

Why are the subtitles looks so ugly in the new version of VLC? I've tried to tweak in the system settings (change font, colour, size, etc...) but nothing was worked. Also I tried to change the renderer to Freetype 2. That doesn't even worked:

I've tried to change encoding or font, same result as above. VLC was my favourite anime watcher app... Now I'm really disappointed, because that so cool looking subtitle renderer was changet to this unreadable crap? Please VLC team, fix this! Thanks much!

Regards, Daniel

I'm having a similar problem with the special characters of the Spanish language.

In my case, these characters are shown as squares.
