I am trying to stream from a webcam on Mac. In the options, I see only one: stream from "iSight". I am able to stream from my webcam, using that option.
My question is whether it is the right way to stream from webcam?

It is indeed. These settings will be expanded in VLC's forthcoming 1.2 release.
