Subtitles not loading on their own

Postby Samyaza » 28 Jun 2011 23:50

Hello there,
I'm having problems with my VLC not automatically loading subtitles even though they are available. I have Battlestar Galactica in *.mkv format with "inbuilt" (English) subtitle track, first season was ok, the subtitles were loaded automatically, but rest of the seasons won't load subs on their own and I have to click on the Video> Subtitles Track> Track 1 - English every time in order to load them, which is kinda annoying, is there any way to fix that please? Any help appreciated.

Season 01 automatically loads subs (image below)

Season 02 DOES NOT automatically load subs (image below)

Seems like I've found a solution, albeit weird. Setting "preferred subtitle language" (under tools>preferences>Subtitles and OSD) to Eng, English or Any will make the subs load automatically for rest of the seasons.
