Let me describe the problem.
My PC is in a local network of my provider, IP is 10.x.x.x . I have an internet connection via VPN, when connected, it's IP is 172.x.x.x. I have an IP-TV service via LAN, the IPs of channels are 224.x.x.x.
When I NOT connected to internet, all is good. But where I have connection, I can't switch the channel. For example, I open VLC, select channels list, start to watch a channel, then connect to internet and try to switch channel - VLC becomes dumb and can't open new channel. Then I disconnect internet and switching works again.
I tried to make a rooting record, but it gets higher metric value (2) than internet connection (1) and can't solve the problem.
So here goes a feature request: make VLC able to select which network interface to use, like in other LAN related programs.
