Postby ole eskildsen » 19 Jun 2011 23:28

Would very much like to be able to capture the video length of a given video. Are able to make dos commands which open. copy, stream and takes snapshots of given videos. but would realy like to get the length in seconds.

Kind regards

Use tool called Mediainfo for that.

Could be used if it was a local file but what if it is a file on the web. If there was a way of doing it on vlc it would be nice because of the many ways vlc can access video material.

I would guess you would have to create new libvlc application for that. (or maybe use some maybe working logging option and parse the log with grep)
