VLC Latency in mpeg2-ts playback

Postby rh11 » 03 May 2011 21:32

Hello Everyone,

I am streaming mpeg2-ts from an embedded device to a vlc client in Windows. There is a 3s latency in playback which is a huge delay for my application. I have tried the various options suggested in the vlc forums without success. Setting udp-caching, etc to 0 did not change a thing. My embedded processor uses hardware accelerated codecs for h.264 encoding, and just playing back h.264 video in vlc has no latency. But, due to transmission errors, I h.264 playback quality suffers sometimes. And I would like to mux video with compressed audio and send it via transport stream. Does anyone have any idea about what is causing the delay. Please let me know if you need more information. Thank you all in advance.

Regards,
rh
