Marquee background

Postby jfduque » 29 Apr 2011 04:57

Currently I'm not doing transcoding, local playback only and control through RC interface (Debian Squeeze, GNOME desktop). Some marquees are placed around the video.

At this point I can edit the marquee's content through RC interface, however, I'm looking for ways to put a background behind the marquee.

Sometimes the video is white and marquees become indistinguishable from the video, so I need something like a black box behind.

This marquee disappears after 5 seconds (with marquee-timeout = 5000). I've been trying to use logo tools to place a black rectangle behind the text, but there isn't something like a logo-timeout, because this black box needs to dissapear.

Do you have any ideas?

In advance, thank you very much.

I've been trying to launch a second VLC instance above the first one, but launching it from RC doesn't works, and by adding a extra Telnet interface, and using PHP to send the "control ch2 play" command, fails too.
