auto refresh on startup

ok i have figured out this great prog vlc. and am using it as a background to my PC. its a lot of fun having the real gold fish in my aquarium apperaing in near real time on my pc via my webcam.

its a real talking point when my friends drop by.

but my problem is everytime i reboot my pc i have to choose refresh and then choose the webcam. the webcam doesn't show as a selectable streaming option unless i press refresh.

is there a way for me to automatically reresh the webcam when i switch vlc on? a command line option perhaps?
