Joining Videos via GUI

Postby flame62 » 22 Mar 2011 18:01

Hello,

I am trying to join some video files of same format (WMV) using the Windows GUI (VLC 1.1.7)

Menu - Media - Convert/Save...
The "Open Media" dialog lets me add multiple files and displays them all in the MRL
selecting [Convert] to advance to the Convert dialog
choosing a profile with container=ASF/WMV, Video=WMV2(keep), Audio=WMA2(keep), subtitles=none
In the Convert dialog / Source only the first file name is displayed and converted (i.e more or less converted back into the same format with a few bytes difference)
the other files are neither opened not joined together with the first

Q: Am I chasing a phantom here (i.e. can I acomplish this job only via the command line) ??

Thanks

(merge, concatenate - for the sake of search engines)
