To add or remove filters during playback

Is it possible to add or remove filter like scaletempo during playback with libvlc?
I know I can add it as an option for playing, but I want to make it disabled or enabled while playing without stop and reload the media.
I've checked the header files coming with libvlc, and I couldn't find any function like such a libvlc_add_filter function.
