Can`t read the audio track

hi
the problem is that when i try to reproduce an .avi file it says
no codec module
VLC doesn`t support the audio or video "undf"
i used media info and it says that the file is an mpeg-4 xvid (video)
an the AC-3 for audio
serching i found that the vlc it suposed to read that format
so i dont know how to fix it

That sound like a badly muxed file. Try to remux the file.
