Discussion on the (deprecated) VideoLAN Server application as well as the miniSAPserver stream announcer. This is not about VLC!

Start vlc without X-Server installed - w/out client stuff

Postby OllieJ » 17 Apr 2005 12:41

Hi all.

Suppose VLC only has to function as streaming server; no client function necessary; no X-Server installed. Remote clients use vlc as their streaming server. How am I to tell vlc to run without complaining about missing displays, i.e. without X-Server etc. pp. ?
I couldn't find a switch that does this.

YEP! Thanks for that hint. I wouldn't have guessed this even though I have been playing around with the --extraintf switch and stuff.

THANKS ALOT, DIONOEA.
