stream to TS without growing file size

Hi i am streaming from an RTP IPTV source to a TS file ( so that i can watch it in windows media player)

However, the TS file grows very large.

As i don't want to store the video ( i just want the stream ) my question is.

Is this the recommended way to watch a stream source in WMP.

or

is there a way to stream to a TS file but only keep a few minutes (or less ) of actual video so the file doesnt grow

Why stream to a file? Can't you stream to RTP / HTTP or even UDP?

you could pick up the stream at rtp://ip-address/file.ts
