GMP4-format?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

GMP4-format?

I have an .avi-file Im trying to play, but vlc says that it doesnt support the sound or videoformat "GMP4".

Does anyone have a suggestion? Ive tried multiple players with no luck - vlc usually plays everything for me :/

GMP4 appears to be GeoVision Advanced MPEG-4 Video Codec, a proprietary codec used by video surveillance cameras. And it's not supported by VLC.

This is how I was able to watch videos with the GMP4 codec

Download and install GeoVision GMP4 Codec:
