1. I dubbed recordings from HDD recorder to DVD
2. I want to edit in Sony Vegas 8
3. SV8 doesn't read the .Vob (250mb) properly
4. VLC reads it perfect and claims to have a feature to convert files.
5. I don't really understand what I am doing and it isn't working out for me.
By default, it wants to make some kind of .PS file which is actually supposed to an Mpeg somehow (I don't understand this stuff) that croped, blocky, distorted. Maybe I'm not doing something right. I don't understand encapsulation, codec, or any other settings. I just want to make it into a file like avi, wmv, mpg, or any other common file using VLC.
Anyone know?
