Mute button on laptop is not working consistently

Postby tamar » 25 Oct 2010 20:50

Okay - I'm using v1.1.4 and this didn't happen in previous <1.0 versions.

I'm on a Win7 laptop with a mute button on the chassis. Every so often, I'll open a video with VLC and forget that my sound is already muted. When I hit the mute button (to unmute the regular system volume, that is), it actually mutes the VLC system volume and unmutes the regular system volume. When I hit the mute button again, it does the opposite. Bottom line: one is always muted and the other is always unmuted.

Any idea why this is? It would be great to fix this since it's new.

Oh, apparently this is a known issue. viewtopic.php?f=14&t=79258

Instead of patching this myself, I hope that someone on the VideoLAN end will actually merge the update, since it's only been 4 versions so far since it was originally reported. :(
