VLC ver 1.1.4 (Fedora13) cannot open network stream

Postby kwong » 22 Oct 2010 23:37

Downloaded VLC 1.1.4 onto 2 laptops running Fedora13. I already have another laptop running an old version of VLC 0.8.4a. When I stream a video from one of the Fed13 laptops running VLC1.1.4 to the laptop running VLC 0.8.4a the video is displayed with no issues (I'm using udp://@:44444).

When I stream from one Fed13 to the other Fed13 nothing is displayed on the client side. Using tcpdump I can see that the 'video' is making it to the client but for some reason it will not display. I'm using udp://@:44444 and the video is in wmv format.

Any suggestion on how to fix or go around this problem? I've tried rtp as well and it doesnot work.

Thanks
K

Firewall, security framework, that sort of things.

Remi
I don't believe its a firewall problem because I can see the video stream at the VLC client side when I do a tcpdump.
