VLC skin crash. Now I cannot get it working

Hi there. I thought it was about time to check out the skin feature of VLC, as I've been using it for some years now.

I went to the site and found a skin, http://www1.videolan.org/vlc/download-s ... Modern.vlt

I downloaded it and Windows asked me what program I wanted to open it with. The obvious logic step is to make VLC.exe open it as it is a VLC skin, but hey nothing happened. I then tried copy it into c:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\skins\ . That seemed to work, however Windows 7 is pretty complaining considering program files write access. So I looked around in %appdata%\VLC but that folder contained no skins folder.

Well okay so I inserted the modern.vlt under %programfiles%\videolan\vlc\skins folder and then I went into preferences and set VLC to use it. I then re-opened VLC just to make it crash. It crashes over and over again. NICE! Then I went around to see where the modern.vlt skin was defined so I could remove it. But it was not to be found anywhere in any config file. After searching for "modern" I finally found one under vlc-qt-interface.ini in [ToolbarProfiles]. I tried removing it from the ini including the value=(blah blah) line.
I then restarted VLC and it did not work.. Bleh.. Then I deleted the modern.vlt file from the skins folder. And it's still only crashing.

Reset your preferences. There's a shortcut in the all programs>videolan>vlc part in your start menu. Also see Skins
