VLC work with PIM-SM network ??

Postby eksyou » 08 Mar 2005 08:02

Hello *

I'm preparing a multicast demo.

The top as followings:
Source(VLC) --- Router1 --- Router2(RP)--- Switch---Receiver(VLC)

On Router1 and Router2 enable PIM-SM, Router2 As RP, and receive
the IGMP query from the Receiver.

If i put the Source and the Receiver in the same LAN, it works well!
But with above topology:
-> Router 2 receive the igmp request (*,226.1.1.1) from the receiver
-> Router 2 also have PIM Group (*,226.1.1.1)
But on Router 1, there is no (S,226.1.1.1) entry from the Source(VLC)

Is there anybody who can help on this, does VLC can act as Multicast
source in the topology??

Many Thanks & Best Regards
Eksyou
