Problem with AAC

Postby blackcoder » 28 Jun 2010 16:50

Hello,
I noticed a problem playing a video file with an AAC-soundtrack. I have massive crackling and/or over modulate. I extracted the soundtrack to reduce the size of the sample and that problem is still reproducible here on two totally different pcs.

Does VLC have anything in common with Winamp in regard of playing AAC? Noticed another slightly problem in Winamp with an different mp4-file with AAC-soundtrack (extracted from an Youtube-Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7nz6-UVrmU). Although i am not sure if VLC did have this problem on that file, too. If yes, then slightly.

I extracted both soundtracks with the following settings:
encapsulation: MP4/MOV
videocodec: none
audiocodec: keep original track (or how it is called in english)
subtitles: none

How can i pass the soundtrack from the video to the developers (4,52 MB)? I don't want to post it public here.

VLC 1.1.0

PC1:
Windows XP SP3
older MSI-Board..

PC2:
Windows Vista SP2
Asus M4A78-E
