web interface access

i have vlc, 1.1.0-rc

what should i do to get this working for outside access ? i already have enabled the world access section but i can only access in 127.0.0.1:8080 so what is freaking holding this up ? i do not understand it

i change the above, i enable web interface, go into 192.168.2.3:8080 and i see 403 Forbidden (/)

what else i have to do for this to work ?

and yes i have always restarted videolan, and re enabled web interface, i even disable the 127.0.0.1 and somehow it still works ????

Most probably you're modifying the wrong .hosts file.

which .hosts file?

i just installed 1.1, forgot to modify the .hosts, and got the expected no server error.

fixed the .hosts, restarted vlc, got 403 Forbidden (/)

so what's the majick incantation this time?
