Vlc Volume Normalizer and Settings

Hi all

I'm getting low volume on all avi or Mkv files, when i increase the Vlc built in volume it increases more background effects volume,Dialogue volume is low, so if i increase the Master volume,same situation, only way is to Normalize, but when i enable Vlc built in normalizer there is no audible difference.. So plz help me,is there any other settings.

I don't know if this is the cause of your problem, but I had something similar happen on certain files, not all. I found that at times the background volume would be very loud, but the foreground volume (character speech, etc.) would be very very soft. I found that I could fix this by clicking on Audio --> Audio Device, and then scaling back the audio device from something like 5.1 Dolby to 2 front 2 rear, or even stereo if necessary. I hope that helps.
