Intel GMA500 test 1.1.0 RC 1

Postby father_mande » 27 May 2010 10:11

Hi,

My environment :
Asus T91MT with intégrated GMA500 (DXVAchecked)
I do test with "Fantatis Four Trailer MP4" 1280x544
T91MT is a tablet PC with an Atom Z520 at 1.33 Ghz (1 core + Hyperthreading)

test with default parameters in vlc
video freeze and some time are desync. large square on screen CPU run at 90% (task manager, not very precise) ... not possible to see it
same test with overclock to 1.6 Ghz (setfsb)
same ... just less CPU ~75 %
test with hardware acceleration on ...
best result CPU is half ... video run as well BUT porblem with color ... face are bleu (like in avatar) not as normal human face (sorry to difficult in English)
yeelow, green and red seems correct
OK so I do some other change to correct the problem and
the solution is : to uncheck "use hadware conversion fro yuv -> rgb" (utiliser les conversions yuv->rgb matérielle)
after that all run fine, video without any freeze, correct color

So the result seems to confirm that hardware acceleration can run on Intel GMA500
evidently we have to run more tests to confirm ... but first one in full of promise.

Philippe.

Bonjour,
Can you do screenshots, please?
CAn you explain better (even in French?)
To complete my configuration ...
I run Windows 7 prenium, aero theme on, Intel driver : 5.0.0.2024, 1024x600 native 32 bits color

hereafter screenshots to (try to) understand the strange color ...
Capture with hardware conversion checked vlc in pause
windows screenshot
Image
vlc internal screenshot
Image

Capture without conversion (hard. conv. unchecked)
windows screenshot
Image
vlc internal screenshot
Image

and for your information DXVAchecker
Image

If you need more information ... don't hesitate.

Philippe.

Bonjour,
