I am looking to back up preferences and settings. Unfortunately I am not nearly as sharp as the original poster. I have no idea what these letters mean or how to use them.

Could you please advise me about how to create a backup for preferences and settings.

Thanks.

If you have customised your toolbars backup %appdata%\vlc\vlc-qt-interface.ini The "reset preferences" will lose your custom toolbar data
