EQ and Conversions

This could apply to any of the audio or video tools and effects. I've fooled around with most of them, and they are very nice.
However, as with the EQ applied when I'm viewing a video -- I see know way to apply it to a conversion. When you choose
"Convert" , a whole new dialog box appears, and you need to enter the file again, even tho' it was just playing. Then you
choose the usual folders, and file type desired............. but what about all those tools and effects? They're only for
viewing?
