Mouse scrolling not working on ASUS Netbook

Postby bsw11 » 05 Feb 2010 19:25

I am running W7 using ASUS mouse pad with 2 finger scrolling driver.

I have the x-asis set to positioning. It simply does not work in VLC. This function works in smplayer and kmplayer just fine.

Do I need to report this anywhere else?

One other question - In full screen mode - is there any kind of pop-up controller for pause and positioning? Is it skin dependent if it exists?

Also what forum is used for suggestions?

On OS level, what kind of messages the positioning sends?

On OS Level please tell me how to find this info for you? Give me a link to a program I can use.river

Note The ASUS is using a standard touch mouse driver from synaptics. The scrolling works fine on all my other players.

I would guess any laptop would have the same issue. But I would be happy to debug this with you.

One other question - is there a feature in VLC that can remember the playing position of each video so when you go back in it starts at where you left off?

No. It might come to VLC in future releases.

Microsoft has tool called Spy++ which can do that. Open the tool, locate running VLC instance (it is called VLC media player) then go to Spy -> Log messages... and Start. Then move the mouse to VLC and scroll with your mouse. Go back to Spy++ and check what messages VLC got.
