Add media content in a directory automatically as vod

As commented at the end of this post: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=56399 it could be nice if VLC could analyze automatically a list of directories adding automatically all media files found in them as vod elements.
This scan could be also refreshed automatically so the vod media is updated with new content.
