Help with automatic screen capture in VLC 1.0.1?

Hi!

I've been using VLC Media Player as a tool for screen capture for years, already. The old versions have "Image video output" to do the trick for you but now, it has been changed to a "Scene filter". I tried fiddling with the scene filter but I'm still not getting any results! Can anyone help me? Maybe write a step-by-step process of doing it?
