dodgy playback on Samsung H-1080 USB player

I recently bought a Samsung H1080 USB player (hdmi to TV), and while it plays most divx files I have downloaded to the USB,
some other divx files will start to break up and freeze, yet when I play it on my laptop its ok. The most recent problem was 'The Hurt Locker'. I did the usual checks using Gspot and it confirmed it ok. Can anyone suggest other tests I can make ?
