DVDs won't play

Postby ram1009 » 22 Aug 2009 18:24

Every time I try to open a DVD XP PRO freezes completely requiring a restart. The same problem existed with WMP until I updated to v11 so I just updated VLC but no joy. Help please.

Driver or hardware problem. Media Players cannot freeze or crash systems, broken hardware or bad drivers can.

How would you suggest I proceed? My hardware seems to be functioning OK so how would I locate the offending driver(s)?

If you have AnyDVD or DVDfab decrypter installed, try to update those. Or any CD/DVD virtual drive (like daemon tools or alcohol).

I'm already running the current version of DVDFab Decrypter, v6.0.4.0. I don't have "any DVD".
