Large AVI file not Playing. Small ones work

I have a 3.4 GB file i wanna play. Wont let me open it in any media players.

tried splitting it with two programs but both wouldnt work. one said unable to open it and the other said invalid header.

is there a codec i can download or a different media player i can run to watch this large file?

Any help is better then none

i have a 1.5 GB file that does play.
and everything smaller then that plays.
