Drag and Drop into Playlist

I am used to using winamp playlists where you can drag mp3's into the playlist and the songs will be added to the specific location of the playlist where you drop them instead of at the very end. When I try to drag and drop song into the VLC playlist they are automatically added to the very end of the playlist instead of the specific location where I drop them. I was wondering if there is a way to drag and drop mp3's so that they will be added to the specific location where I drop them? I was also wondering how do I automatically save the playlist when I close VLC so that the same files will be open when I reopen VLC? Thanks
