Buttons for moving position slider

Postby Katz » 05 Aug 2009 16:22

Hi,

Is there a way (buttons/shortcuts, something) that let's you move the position slider besides dragging it with mouse pointer?

I have problem with .ts stream video formats. My netbased digital recorder saves files in those formats and I just download them to my MAC connected to my TV. Forward/Backward Jumps do not work with them and VLC doesn't show the length/position in numbers (eg.00.45.38). However I can change place in video by draging the slider. The problem is that it is VERY inaccurate when video length is longer than 30-45 mins.

I don't know how the slider works, but atleast with it I can't adjust the place forward and backwards, so if there was a way to move the slider with a keyboard shortcut in adjustable incrementes (backwards/forwards) it would really ease up using VLC for me.

Converting vids into an other format is not an acceptable solution to my problem, because that would be more cumbersome on my hometheater system than the awkwardness of slider usage.
