Media extentions

Is there any way to disable the file extensions in the Playlist/Media Library?

In 0.9 when a file was added and in the Finder the file extension was hidden it didn't show in VLC.
Now it always shows the extension which is very annoying.

(And VLC still can't play DTS audio saved from QuickTime and creates horrifying sounds with AC3 saved from QuickTime, both .mov files while with the same file in a .mkv container the problem is non existent)
