Multicast streaming from public to private network

Postby jakudo » 19 Jul 2009 17:01

Hello, my internet provider provides us multicast streaming over their network. Is it possible to get this multicast in my private network?
their network gives me public ip which I'm sharing via router to my computers in my small local network with 10.0.1.x address.
is it possible to share this multicast?

You need to enable multicast routing or proxying on the router. Note that low-end off-the-shelves routers cannot do that, usually.
