1.0.0 fullscreen controls: transparency / position

Postby PhiloHippus » 14 Jul 2009 03:29

The two things that changed with the fullscreen controller in 1.0.0, transparency and dead center positioning, are two steps back in my opinion.

I just want to know how to bring back old 0.9.9 fullscreen controller behaviour: Remember controller position and opaque surface.

Cheers

The position should be remembered. Opacity will be changeable in the future.

nope, not remembered at all, and I deleted all preferences when uninstalling 0.9.9. Everytime I set a video to fullscreen on my secondary display (a TV across the room from my PC) the controller is always on the bottom-center of the secondary monitor. I like to have the controller in the primary monitor and keep only video on the secondary so it's a bit aggravating to me personally, not enough to downgrade, but enough to post here about and it :)

so, what could be messing up with remembering controller position and how do I set/fix it?

Position can be configured via configure file
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=51191&p=195067&hilit=point#p194200

yell back if this doesn't work either.

thanks for the reply but nope didn't work. whatever value I insert there, it always resets to bottom center on top of the fullscreened video.

I also noticed that as I close the player, it actually writes the proper values to the pos=@Point(x y) string according to the position I moved the controller to during the player session, yet once I reopen vlc it's still gone and back to bottom center, which is always either "pos=@Point(1467 696)" or "pos=@Point(379 792)" depending on whether I fullscreened to my secondary or primary display respectively.

Works fine in here. It cannot be file access issue, because new position is stored to config file. I have no clue why it would do something like that.
